Program Policies

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to NBOA at programs@nboa.org.

Annual Meeting and Other In-Person Group Program Events

If a participant cancels his or her registration for an in-person, group-based program more than 30 days prior to the event, the participant will receive a refund for any fees paid less an administrative processing fee. A registrant cancelling less than 30 days prior to the event will forfeit all registration fees paid in their entirety. NBOA will not provide individual registration and exhibitor fee refunds for attendee no-shows or cancellation due to illness, travel, work, family, inclement weather, emergency situations or any other reason outside our control. No refunds shall be made for cancellations due to inclement weather. Attendees who purchase nonrefundable airline tickets do so at their own risk.

For NBOA's Annual Meeting and Business Officer Institute, the administrative processing fee is $100; for all other NBOA in-person events, the processing fee is $50.

Online Courses

If a course registrant cancels his/her registration more than one week prior to the start of the course, the registrant will receive a refund for any fees paid less an administrative processing fee of $50. No refunds will be made seven days prior to the start of the course.

If a registrant is unable to participate in an online course, he or she may be eligible for a future program credit if they notify NBOA in writing by the end of the first week of the course. The program credit is nontransferable and may be applied to any future NBOA course or program event in the next 12 months.

Webinars

If a nonmember registers for an NBOA webinar but does not attend the presentation, the registration fee cannot be refunded. A nonmember registrant can view the archived version of the webinar for up to 30 days following the live presentation; otherwise, the webinar archive is only accessible to NBOA members. To request the temporary link, please email NBOA at programs@nboa.org.

NBOA Program Cancellation

If NBOA must cancel a program for any reason, a notification email will be sent to all pre-registered participants. Pre-registered participants will receive a full refund of any deposit or program fees paid.

Complaints/Grievance Procedures

If for any reason a participant is not satisfied with any of NBOA's professional development programs, the participant should submit his or her complaint in writing to:

  • NBOA
    1400 I Street, NW
    Suite 675
    Washington, DC 20005

The complaint should include: name, address, and contact information of the participant; name and dates of the program; and the nature of the complaint. NBOA is committed to quality programs and will investigate each claim and take action as necessary.
